The therapy

What is NeuroPhysics Therapy?

NeuroPhysics Therapy (NPT) is a method developed by Ken Ware. It focuses on resetting and rebuilding a dysregulated nervous system – not by targeting individual symptoms, but by working with the body as a whole: physically, emotionally, and cognitively.

Many people with chronic illness get stuck in survival mode: fight, flight, or freeze. Over time, the nervous system becomes chronically dysregulated.
With NPT, you teach your system – through extremely slow, gentle movements – how to respond from a state of calm instead of stress. The aim is to bring the system back into balance, calm the nervous system, and create new neural connections.

The exercises are done on fitness equipment, with one-on-one guidance. It’s not about “training,” but about observation: How does your system respond? Where are the automatic patterns that keep causing noise? And how can you learn to respond?

This therapy includes many elements, so what I describe here is just a small part of the full picture.

For me, the program consists of six weeks of intensive therapy with Ken Ware himself, followed by two weeks of guided practice on location. After that, I’ll continue training at home 4–5 times per week, supported by monthly online sessions with Ken.
Although two NPT clinics have now opened in the Netherlands, they’re still too new and don’t yet have the expertise needed for my complex condition. That’s why I need to travel to the original center in Australia – to work with the founder himself.

Why Neurophysics Therapy?

On the About Lisa page, I describe how I’ve tried just about everything over the past ten years. – from mainstream treatments to alternative therapies. Some things helped a little, briefly. But nothing ever truly moved me forward. It was always about managing symptoms, never about real healing.

That started to change in 2022, when I began treatment at Cognitive FX (CFX) in Utah. For the first time, someone looked at the root of the problem: a dysregulated nervous system. It was an intense, active program focused on rebuilding from the inside out. It was tough, but I made progress – slow, steady steps that gave me hope.

Then, just over a year ago, everything shifted: a virus and a blow to my neck pushed my system over the edge. From that point on, I simply couldn’t handle the intensity of CFX anymore. My body couldn’t take it anymore.

That’s where NeuroPhysics Therapy (NPT) comes in. Unlike CFX, which works through structured activity, NPT focuses on deep restoration through calm, stillness, and safety. Both therapies aim to reset the nervous system – but the approach couldn’t be more different.

When I first heard about NPT, it moved me deeply. I felt a wave of emotion: relief, disbelief, hope – all at once. Finally, a method that doesn’t demand a fight from a body that’s already exhausted. A method that brings softness, calmth, and a way forward – gently. This brings light into the long darkness I’ve been living in.

What touches me most? The stories of others like me. People who were stuck in survival mode for years. People who could barely function. And now? They live with a nervous system at rest – not temporarily, but in a lasting way. And the most beautiful part? They’re back to living: cooking, spending time with loved ones, some are even working again. They’re participating in life. Fully, again.

NPT is not an easy path. It’s a demanding process, physically, emotionally and mentally. But that’s exactly why it’s powerful. It builds a foundation that grows stronger over time. Not a short-term boost, but real, long-lasting change.

I know eight weeks in Australia won’t magically fix everything. I do know this: it’s the beginning of an upward path. A long-term journey that I’m ready to commit to – with all I have. One thing I know for sure: this is worth it. This therapy is my chance to slowly move back toward the light – with trust, with courage, and one step at a time, toward the life that’s waiting for me.

The stories that fuel me

Dozens of people from the Netherlands facing similar challenges have already made the journey to Australia for NeuroPhysics Therapy (NPT). Most of their stories and blog posts are shared in private groups. I read them often, and each time I’m deeply moved by the progress they’re making. It gives me hope – and I can’t wait to experience it for myself.

The video features a testimonial by Sanne Jansen. In 2022, she visited Ken Ware’s clinic in Australia. The video was recorded there, just four weeks into her NPT journey. Sanne had suffered for 20 years with severe symptoms (ME/CFS and POTS), and she has since reclaimed her life. Last year, she published a blog where she shared that she is now HEALTHY. You can read her blog here. Her website also offers more insight into NeuroPhysics Therapy, POTS, and ME/CFS.

Another Sanne also attended the clinic and wrote the following at the end of last year: “I’ve been doing NPT for 2.5 years now and I’m doing incredibly well. I’m currently (for those who know) in program 7, and I’m still making progress! Soon I’ll be working 18 hours a week, I ride horses four days a week, and go to the gym three times a week. I’m even slowly building up cardio training. Social activities are no problem anymore either. I’m LIVING again.”

Goosebumps... that’s what I get from reading, watching, and listening to these stories. And there are so many more – but I won’t overwhelm you with them all. These stories give me courage and strength. They show me that it’s possible to live agiain – not just to survive.
It’s real. It’s achievable to get parts of my life back. That is exactly what I want.

Why I'm asking for help

Sometimes you have to ask for something you wish you didn’t have to.
So here I am – asking, with a loving smile on my face and a heart full of gratitude that you’re even reading this.

To begin the NeuroPhysics Therapy program in Australia, I need to raise €40,000. That amount covers the journey, accommodation, transport to and from the clinic, and the therapy itself – guided by Ken Ware, the founder of NPT. After the eight weeks on-site, the program continues through monthly online sessions.

I know… it’s a lot. Really a lot. And I know it’s not something I can just expect from others.
That’s why I want to tell you, with honesty and love, why I’m choosing to ask.

Over the past ten years, I’ve done everything I could to get better. I’ve shown up with courage, grit, and strength drawn from the deepest part of me. I’ve tried everything within reach – from intensive programs to alternative therapies. And I’ve funded it all myself.

If I look at what I’ve spent over the years, I could have paid for this entire NPT journey myself. But I didn’t know then what I know now. And back then, I wasn’t in the condition I’m in today.

This is no longer something I can just "push through" or fix on my own. Right now, I spend more than twenty hours a day in bed. I have just enough energy to care for myself. That’s why I’m asking for help. Not because I feel sorry for myself – but from a place of strength: Because I want to go for it and I believe this is my chance! I would love it if you feel inspired to contribute, because you can feel that I’m not giving up – that I’m fully committed, and that I truly deserve this chance.

I can start the therapy on August 11th. But the sooner the full amount is reached, the more peace I’ll feel leading up to it – and peace is exactly the state I want to be in when I begin.

Know this: Every penny counts. Every contribution matters. Every bit of support makes a difference. It all counts. It all warms my heart.

Your support brings me closer to what I’ve been longing for all this time: to live life, to enjoy, to take part again and to laugh more!
